Research & Practice in Laboratory

March 11, 2013

Introduction:

The term good laboratory practice or simply GLP refers to a quality system of management controls for research laboratories and organizations to try to ensure the uniformity, consistency, reliability, reproducibility, quality, and integrity of chemical and non-clinical safety tests.
GLP was instituted in the cases like animal test fraud by pharmaceutical and industrial chemical (mainly pesticide) manufacturers. Industrial BioTest Labs (IBT) was the best example case for GLP, where thousands of safety tests for chemical manufacturers were falsely claimed to have been performed.

An image Displaying the Clinical PracticeGood Clinical Practice (GCP) is an international quality standard that is defined by International Conference on Harmonisation (ICH), an international body that defines standards, which governments can transpose into regulations for clinical trials involving human subjects.

Good Clinical Practice guidelines consist of protection of human rights as a subject in clinical trial. It also gives the assurance of the safety and efficacy of the newly developed compounds.

A branch of medical science, Clinical Research determines the safety and effectiveness of medications, devices, diagnostic products and treatment regimens intended for human use. Clinical Research can be used for prevention, treatment, diagnosis or for relieving symptoms of a disease. Clinical Research is different than clinical practice. In clinical practice, one used established treatments while in clinical research evidence is collected to establish a treatment.

GLP-GCP Summit-2013 conference is expected to share information among Clinical research professionals, Research Scholars, young Scientists & regulated communities to discuss the new opportunities & enhance the product development. Clinical Research will highlight three areas that present challenges to sponsors and investigational sites Enhancing Success through communication and assuring confidence in Clinical Research, GLP, GCP.

OMICS Publishing Group is now inviting all science people across the world to attend the 2nd International summit on GLP, GCP & Clinical Research at Double Tree by Hilton Chicago-North Shore, USA (on November 12-14, 2013).
